Bohemian with a Modern Twist

So there is a designer in our neighborhood that helped me make some changes to our living room. She recently had her friend that is a professional photographer come over to take some pictures for her blog and portfolio. I like to look at these and pretend that this is really what my house looks like day to day......and then I come back to reality and appreciate the 2 seconds it is like this after it gets cleaned and before the kids decide they want to hang out in the living room and stomp on the pillows and eat crackers!

San Francisco Trip

Here are a few highlights from our 4th of July trip to San Francisco. The Golden Gate Bridge Park was probably our favorite place. There is a nice walkway and bridge in the Japanese Gardens that are located within the park.

One day we unexpectedly found a children's museum located behind these nice columns and gardens.

Also while visiting the Golden Gate Bridge Park we came upon an outdoor 4th of July concert. Liam had to stop for food at this point.

The park also has a museum which had a Picasso exhibit that was going on at the time.

I swear this park has everything, even a pavilion just for us in the Natural History Museum section!

We couldn't leave without taking a walk on the Golden Gate Bridge.

Lila Turns 3

After months of anticipation Lila finally turned 3! Here is Lila opening some pink presents on her birthday. When I asked Lila what she wanted for her birthday she would only reply, "pink." I never could get her to specify any further than that so I decided we'd better have a pink party with pink wrapping paper, a pink cake, pink ice cream and pink decorations.

Of course she had to wear a pink bow with a pink dress.

Lila's babysitter made sure Lila had a bright pink cake with princesses on top.

The pink dress ups are compliments of Grandma Johnson.

Lots of cute girls to enjoy the pink party.

The finale included an outdoor movie in our back yard where we played Tangled.

In Memory

Although I didn't make it up to the cemetery this weekend I did spend some time remembering my Dad, Spencer and Drew. I don't have a lot of old pictures on my desktop so these will just have to do for now.

Spencer is just hilarious in this family photo. I know people only remember him as being perfect but he did have a streak of stubbornness in him. My Dad must have been a really patient guy....8 kids!!! Now that I'm an adult with kids I can't even fathom the chaos.

Spencer looking a little happier here playing with all the girls.

This picture is of Spencer and myself exploring the petrified forest. Nice tube socks!!

Unfortunately I don't have a shot of Drew on file. I'll have to post some later but just didn't want this week to go by without mentioning how much I miss these guys.

Mother's Day Weekend

Thanks to Kristen's planning you can see Mother's day weekend was a hit. It all started with dinner at The Paris followed by massages at the Kura Door Spa and then a night at the Grand America. Kristen even thought to buy us matching pajamas. Does Kristen know how to have fun or what?

Easter Weekend

The festivities started Friday night with some egg dying.

Saturday was jam packed with lunch at Grandma Johnson's followed by the first Easter egg hunt. Then we headed over to Grandma Morse's for dinner and another Easter egg hunt. Later that night we drove home so the Easter bunny could come to our house for the third and final hunt. Here is Lila waking up bright and early to find another round of chocolate filled eggs.

After the hunt we decided it was time to dress up and go to brunch at the Grand America. It's becoming a nice family tradition for us. They really do a beautiful job on the gardens and indoor decorations and flowers. I think spring has finally arrived. Now I just need to figure out what to do with all that chocolate.
